On December 7, 2024, Malta’s climbing community gathered at Ġebla Climbing in Mrieħel for the National Bouldering Competition. The event featured 68 climbers across seven categories, showcasing incredible talent and determination in qualifiers, semifinals, and finals.
Competition Format and Results
Open and Youth A and B climbers battled through 15 qualifiers, 4 semifinals, and 4 finals boulders, with scores based on achieving zones and tops. Youth C, D and E featured a minifinals round to break ties among top qualifiers.
Congratulations to Luca Giglio and Darya Scerri Diacono, the Open combined winners and Youth A champions. Other category winners include:
- Youth B: Marianne Heller & Lars Strojek
- Youth C: Kristina Axiaq & Jack Tonna
- Youth D: Juliet Chetcuti & Owen Limbuwala
- Youth E: Gabriel Jiayan Chen
