UIAA General Assembly 2024 Successfully Concludes in Malta

The 2024 UIAA (International Climbing and Mountaineering Federation) General Assembly in Malta, hosted by ClimbMT, brought over 125 delegates from more than 60 countries for a series of successful administrative meetings, held across top venues in Ċirkewwa and Marfa. Despite challenging weather, outdoor cultural activities and climbing excursions still went ahead, highlighting Malta’s potential as an adventure tourism destination. Delegates were treated to meals at various Maltese eateries, enjoying a taste of local culture and cuisine.

The General Assembly took place at the Paradise Bay Hotel between Thursday 7th November and Saturday 9th November 2024.

ClimbMT’s Sport Single Pitch Instructor course for climbing instructors received formal validation from the UIAA Training Commission, adding a milestone for local climbing instruction standards.

Malta Tourism Authority’s financial support under the Conventions scheme was a welcome aid in facilitating the event.

SportMalta provided invaluable financial support through the Sports Tourism Assistance Scheme.
